What is the difference between 'account' and 'institution'?

Modified on Thu, 4 Jul at 5:30 AM

An institute refers to a bank, company, or financial agency where you can hold one or multiple accounts such as SAVINGS, CREDIT CARD, LOAN, MORTGAGE, etc. On the other hand, an account refers to a specific type (from the list above) where you deposit or withdraw money/assets. Each account has an associated account number.
