How do I set up family budgeting on TimelyBills?

To create and manage a budget with a group on TimelyBills, you'll need a Pro Family subscription that includes access to the group feature, all pro and basic features.  


If you're not part of a group yet, create one on TimelyBills by inviting others to join your group. Refer to FAQ How do I set up a family group in TimelyBills? for detailed instructions.




Follow the below steps to create a group budget (once you are part of the group already)


  • Go to the Dashboard. 

 


  • Select the Budgets tab. 

  


  • Click on the + button at the top right corner. 


 



  • Choose Create a Family Budget from the options provided. 


 


  • Fill in all the necessary details to create the budget. 



        


        

 


  • Navigate to the Dashboard to view and manage your family budget. 


 


  • Look for the group icon at the top right corner of the screen. 


 


  • Toggle to group mode


 


  • Navigate back to the Budget tab to access and manage your all-family budget within the family/group setup. 

 




Family Budget Notifications / Alerts: TimelyBills supports the following types of family notifications. 

  • Overspending Notifications / Alerts: This feature alerts all members of the group when spending exceeds the group budget. It helps members stay informed about group spending habits and encourages more effective financial management. 

 

 

   


 

 

 

  • Spending Notifications Alert:  The Spending Notifications Alert feature sends real-time notifications when spending exceeds set budget thresholds. It helps users stay informed about their spending and manage their budget effectively.  

        

            

 

             
 


  • Sharing/Unsharing Budget Notifications: When someone in the group shares or unshares a budget with others, notifications are sent to keep everyone informed about these changes. This ensures transparency and allows all members to track budget progress at any time. 

 




 

                                                   

  • Sharing/Unsharing Goals Notifications / Alerts: When a goal is shared or unshared within a group, notifications or alerts are sent to all relevant members. These notifications ensure that everyone is updated on changes, promoting transparency and keeping all members informed about goal progress and updates.

  • Sharing/Unsharing Account Notifications / Alerts: When an account is shared or unshared within a group, notifications or alerts are sent to all involved members.
