What does 'Archive Account' mean?

Modified on Wed, 10 Jul at 12:22 PM

The 'Archive Account' feature in TimelyBills allows users to set aside accounts they no longer actively use but wish to keep for record-keeping purposes. When you archive an account, it is marked as inactive and no longer available for new transactions. Instead, it is moved to a separate 'Archive' section within your accounts list screen for easy reference.

Steps to Archive an Account:

  • Navigate to the Dashboard

  • Click on the 'Accounts' section.

  • Choose the specific account you want to archive from the list.

  • Click on the three dots (found at the top right corner of the screen) and select 'Archive Account'.

Additional Notes:

  • You can reverse this action at any time by choosing to un-archive the account, making it active again and visible in your main accounts list.

  • Transactions associated with archived accounts will still be accessible from both the account details and transactions tabs.

  • While you can view and edit existing transactions from an archived account, you cannot add new transactions to it.

  • Account settings can still be modified for archived accounts.

  • Archived accounts will not appear as options when adding new transactions from screens other than the accounts section.

  • This feature is particularly useful for managing old or inactive accounts while organizing your active accounts effectively.
